As we were leaving the Olympic Peninsula we found a little campground on the north shore of the Columbia River that offered just what we were looking for; an inexpensive campground on the water where we could spend the night.
The Elochoman Slough Marina is a focus of Wahkiakum County recreational and economic activity. Boaters from Portland and Vancouver, as well as Ilwaco and Astoria, flock to the Elochoman Slough Marina because of its location, its historical river town amenities, and the pristine rural character of the surrounding land.
Restrooms and showers are shared with all the guests in the marina. They are very clean. There is a fee for the showers.
Our favorite part of the stay was watching the boats come in at the end of the day and unloading their catch. The sunset on the Columbia River was exquisite.
The Marina Office hours of operation are 9:00 to 5:00 (March 1st – September 30th) The office closes at 3:00 pm between October 1st – February 28th.
